1. General Provisions
This Privacy Policy describes how the Breath mobile application ("Breath", "the app", "we")
handles data used to provide breathing practice features.
In short: Breath has no accounts, ads, or cross-app tracking. We use
privacy-focused, pseudonymous analytics to improve the app. Your practice history stays on
your device unless you choose to use optional iCloud sync.
2. Description of the Application
Breath is a breathing-practice app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. It provides guided
rhythms, optional voice and haptic cues, reminders, progress features, and optional Apple
Health and iCloud integrations.
3. What Data We Collect and Store
3.1. Local Application Settings
The Application saves the following settings only on your device in the
standard iOS storage (UserDefaults):
- Enable/disable Apple Health integration
- Enable/disable haptic feedback (vibration)
- Application theme (light/dark/automatic)
- Color of the visual breathing indicator
- Enable/disable reminder notifications
- Time for daily reminders
- Onboarding completion status
- Selected launch logo
- Voice type for prompts (female/male/metronome/sensei)
- Setting for automatic volume reduction of other apps
These data are stored only locally and are not transferred to third parties.
3.2. User Exercises
The app allows you to create your own breathing exercises. Their name, breathing-cycle
parameters, and number of repetitions are stored on your device. When you enable optional
iCloud sync, your custom exercises are also included in the private iCloud data used to sync
Breath across your Apple devices.
3.3. Practice Statistics
The Application saves information about completed breathing sessions:
- Date and time, exercise name and breathing pattern
- Planned and completed duration, and whether a session was finished
- Optional effort and before/after mood check-ins that you enter in the app
This information is stored locally and used to show your history, statistics, and
recommendations. If iCloud sync is enabled, it is included in the private iCloud data used for
syncing.
3.4. Apple Health (Optional)
If you grant permission, the Application can write data about breathing practices to the Apple
Health app on your device:
- Data type: Mindful Session
- Practice duration
- Start and end date and time
Important:
- The app writes Mindful Session data only with your permission
- The app may read the most recent workout only with your permission, to offer an optional
post-workout breathing suggestion
- Data is stored in Apple Health, the management of which is fully controlled by you via iOS
settings
- You can revoke permission at any time in iOS settings
- We do not have access to other data from Apple Health
3.5. Notifications
The Application uses local iOS notifications for:
- Daily practice reminders (if enabled)
- A reminder before an optional free trial ends
These notifications are processed exclusively by the iOS system on your device. We do
not receive information about whether notifications were delivered or read.
3.6. Anonymous Usage Analytics
To understand which features work and improve the app, Breath sends limited, pseudonymous
usage events to TelemetryDeck. Examples include
app launches, starting or completing a practice, the selected goal, paywall views, and the
outcome of a purchase attempt. Practice events can include the practice name and duration; a
custom practice name is therefore sent when you use that custom practice.
- We do not send your name, email address, Apple Account, advertising identifier, or HealthKit records
- Events include a random per-install identifier so that events from the same installation
can be grouped. It is not your Apple ID or advertising identifier and is anonymized by TelemetryDeck
- TelemetryDeck analytics are used only to understand and improve Breath; they are not used
for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across apps or websites
4. Data We DO NOT Collect
The Application does not intentionally collect or transmit the following data:
- ❌ Name, surname, email address, phone number
- ❌ Location data (GPS)
- ❌ Your Apple Account, advertising identifier, or hardware/device identifier; the
separate random per-install analytics identifier is described in section 3.6
- ❌ Information about other applications on your device
- ❌ Data for advertising, data brokers, or cross-app/cross-website tracking
- ❌ Information about your device (model, iOS version) — except for what Apple automatically
provides when publishing to the App Store
- ❌ Data sold to advertisers or data brokers
5. Use of Data
The app uses the data described above exclusively for:
- Application Operation:
- Saving your settings and preferences
- Displaying exercises you created
- Showing statistics of your practices
- Apple Health Integration:
- Recording data about breathing practices (only with your permission)
- Notifications:
- Sending local practice reminders (only with your permission)
- Optional iCloud sync:
- Keeping your custom exercises and session history available across your Apple devices
- Product analytics:
- Understanding aggregate app use and improving practices, onboarding, and subscriptions
6. Data Storage
- Settings, exercises, and session history are stored on your device in standard iOS storage
- If you enable iCloud sync, custom exercises and session history are stored in your private
CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account
- Breath does not operate its own server for practice data. Limited pseudonymous product
analytics are processed by TelemetryDeck as described in section 3.6; Breath uses no
advertising services
Apple Health data is managed through Apple Health and iOS settings. iCloud and Health data may
be synchronized by Apple according to your Apple Account settings and Apple's policies.
7. Data Transfer to Third Parties
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share the limited
analytics events described in section 3.6 with TelemetryDeck solely to measure and improve
Breath.
The Application does not use:
- Advertising or profiling analytics; the only analytics provider is TelemetryDeck, as
described in section 3.6
- Advertising SDKs
- Cross-app or cross-website tracking services
- Public or developer-operated cloud databases
- External APIs for data storage
Apple services: If you enable Apple Health or iCloud sync, the relevant data
is processed by Apple to provide those services. Purchases are also processed by Apple through
the App Store. Apple's use of data is governed by Apple's own policies.
8. User Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Data on your device: Removing the app removes its local data from that device
- iCloud data: If you enabled iCloud sync, associated data is managed through
your Apple Account and may remain in iCloud according to Apple's retention practices
- Apple Health Management: You can revoke permission to write data to Apple
Health at any time via iOS settings: Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Breath
- Notification Management: You can disable notifications in the application
settings or via iOS settings
- Questions or deletion requests: Contact us at breath@addicted.sh
9. Security
- All data is stored in secure iOS storage
- The Application does not require an internet connection for main functionality
- We limit transmitted analytics to the pseudonymous events described in section 3.6
10. Children
The Application is not intended for children under 13 (or other age established by the laws of
your country). We knowingly do not collect personal data of children.
11. Changes to Privacy Policy
We may periodically update this Policy. We will notify you of significant changes via an
application update or other means.
Continuing to use the Application after an updated version of the Policy takes effect confirms
your agreement to such changes.
12. Contacts
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or data processing, you can contact us:
13. Consent
By using the Application, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Brief Summary: Breath has no ads, no cross-app tracking, and no in-app account.
It uses limited pseudonymous TelemetryDeck analytics to improve the product. Practice data stays
on your device unless you choose iCloud sync. Apple Health, iCloud sync, and notifications are
optional and controlled through the app and iOS.
